Opening Weekend of the Markree House Museum


Invitation to register for a free VIP tour

To celebrate the opening of the Markree House Museum & Garden, the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery invites you to enjoy an exclusive, free guided tour of the museum and garden.

Markree is a new house museum specialising in the art, decorative arts and social history of the early 20th century, and is complemented by a fully interpreted heritage garden.

Special opening weekend tours of approximately 45 minutes will operate hourly between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm on Saturday 11, Sunday 12 and Monday 13 June 2011.

Places are strictly limited and will be allocated on a ballot basis. To register your interest, email   or phone 03 6211 4177 before Monday 6 June 2011.

Please provide your name, preferred contact details, preferred day of tour and the number of tickets you would like to request (maximum of 4 tickets).

Successful invitees will be notified on Tuesday 7 June 2011 and details will be provided, at that time, on attending this wonderful event.

Please note wheelchair access is limited to the ground floor of Markree House Museum.

After the opening weekend, Markree will open for booked tours by appointment only and admission charges will apply.
