At the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG), we are committed to ensuring the well-being and safety of our visitors and staff as we open with COVID-19 safety measures in place.
We have created an experience that prioritises your safety and enjoyment by introducing physical distancing and extra hygiene measures, comprehensive regular cleaning, and visitor number limits in galleries and on the site as a whole.

For a general visit to TMAG, bookings are not required for individual visitors or families but contact tracing details are required upon entry. Download the Check In TAS app on your smartphone in readiness for your visit.
Bookings are however required for TMAG’s new gallery for children 0-7 years, mapiya lumi | around here. Entry is free, and visitors can book in for a timed session which will ensure an optimised and COVID-safe experience. Please book using the button below.
Bookings are also required for community and commercial groups of 10-30 people, as well as for schools and education groups for self-guided visits or digital excursions beamed directly into classrooms. Please click on the relevant button below to make a booking.
