| Description | Join co-curators of Thomas Bock, Jane Stewart, Principal Curator of Art at TMAG and Jonathan Watkins, Director of Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, as they discuss the work of convict artist, Thomas Bock. Touching on Bock’s work as a celebrated miniaturist in Birmingham, the exhibition explores Bock’s diverse and sensitive portraits of early colonial life following his transportation to Van Diemen’s Land in 1823. Hear how the curators have drawn on collections in both Australia and the UK to present a fresh assessment of this important colonial artist. Location: Argyle Gallery 4 |
