TMAG is open daily from 26 December until 27 April and Tuesday - Sunday from 28 April until 24 December.


Tours

Free tours for small groups are available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only, and run for 40 minutes. Tour times are subject to change and availability and can be checked by phoning (03) 6165 7000.

Highlights of the Art Galleries Tour

Explore TMAG’s latest temporary visual art exhibition or select galleries of TMAG’s permanent art collection.

For our current ‘Highlights of the Art Galleries Tour’, join a TMAG art guide for a guided tour of On Island.  This exhibition explores connections between artists and the archipelago of 334 islands that make up Lutruwita/Tasmania.

pARTicipate Art Workshop

Inside Pompeii: the animals of ancient Pompeii with Lynn Beck

A two–hour art workshop exploring Inside Pompeii: Origins of a European Way of Life

In this workshop you will investigate the ancient interiors and the real and mythical animals of Inside Pompeii. We will add a story-line to the imagined lives of Pompeii residents before re-creating some of these images in your own ‘fresco’.
