City of Hobart Art Prize winners announced

For only the second time in its 23 year history all of the major awards in the 2011 City of Hobart Art Prize have been won by Tasmanian artists.  

This year 41 artists working with Paper and Wood have been selected to create an exhibition of the most contemporary Australian works in these media.  

Winner 2011 City of Hobart Art Prize – Paper category $15,000

The City of Hobart Art Prize exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday 23 July to Sunday 18 September at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.

Gallery hours are 10am to 5pm.  Entry is free. 

Visitors will be able to vote in the People’s Choice Award which is a cash award of $1000 for the most popular work in the exhibition.

A voter will win a $100 gift voucher courtesy of the Hobart City Council from their choice of Artery, Fullers Bookshop or Music Without Frontiers.
