Open Doors at Markree

Markee House Museum and Garden

The doors are open at Markree House Museum and Garden this weekend, so if you missed out during Australian Heritage Week, come along on Sunday 6 May for a peek at the new displays in the kitchen and nursery, and to see the garden in autumn.

There will be curators on hand to answer questions as you wander at your leisure through the house and garden, and explore an early 20th century Arts and Crafts home that has been restored true to its original period. Markree will be open from 10am - 2pm and entry is free as part of the Open Doors event.

Open Doors is part of the Tasmanian Heritage Festival and this year there are 10 Open Doors events all under the theme of innovation and invention. Further information about Open Doors is available from Heritage Tasmania www.heritage.tas.gov.au
