Celebration of the Undercurrent Summer School – part of Hobart Current: Here
Showcasing the outcomes of the Undercurrent: Contemporary Art Summer School, a free four-day program held at TMAG in partnership with the City of Hobart as part of the biennial contemporary art exhibition and program Hobart Current: Here.
Undercurrent is supported by both TMAG and City of Hobart as a meaningful way for young people to explore future pathways in contemporary art practice and understand more about the diversity of roles available to them in the broader arts and cultural sector.
Facilitated by artist and mentor, Lucy Bleach, throughout the program participants explored the different ways to respond, make and document artistic processes while engaging with some of Tasmania’s best contemporary artists.
Special guests of the program included key TMAG curators, City of Hobart Public Art Team members and Hobart Current: Here Creative Directors Denise Robinson and Travis Tiddy, as well as select artists from the exhibition.
