Calling all English and Creative Writing teachers!
In association with the Tasmanian Association for the Teaching of English (TATE), join us for ‘Write at the Museum’, a creative professional learning experience inspired by one of our latest exhibitions, Becoming Modern.
Discover how artworks can spark imagination and become powerful creative writing prompts, whether at the museum, in the classroom, or beyond. Hear from TMAG Head of Art and Becoming Modern exhibition curator Ash Kerr along with a presentation from Tasmanian writer Danielle Wood.
During this session, you will:
- Explore ideas to support a self-guided excursion to Becoming Modern
- Learn how visual artworks can inspire creative writing
- Build confidence as a "teacher as writer" through hands-on creative activities
Designed for Years 7-12 English and Creative Writing teachers, however, educators from all learning areas are welcome to attend.
Date: Wednesday 9 September 2026
Time: 4:00 – 6:00 pm
