The STARE – Second Echo Ensemble

If we don’t look, we can’t see, and if we can’t see, we can’t know, so how can we understand?

Challenging the way we view people living with disability, The STARE addresses uncomfortable and too often unspoken 'norms.' Through a series of portraits, audio/video recordings, and live workshops/performances, the project creates conversation to reconstruct what is normal. Dedicated to reflecting the diverse world we live in, The STARE celebrates difference.

Support available for those who require it in the form of torches, introductory information explaining the journey through the exhibition, a lower overall volume, AUSLAN interpretation, Audio Descriptions and staff to assist navigating the exhibition.

Second Echo Ensemble and TMAG are pleased to announce that The Stare, exhibiting in TMAG’s Bond Store Basement has been extended until February 4.  Audiences have been loving this immerse, captivating exhibition that showcases the inner creativity and diverse perspectives of the Second Echo Ensemble artists. We now welcome visitors to the exhibition during TMAG opening hours across the summer period.
